Long & Short

image

A lot of you keep asking me where I got it, how much was it and where you can get it in the Philippines. I asked my cousin from Texas to get me one. He got it for me for Christmas! It was about 100+ $ (Php 4000-5,000). The best way to purchase it is through a family/friend in the US/Canada that’s going home to the Philippines. You can still try ebay or those online shops. I got mine at zumiez.com but I am not comfortable with shopping online. So that was the best way for me.

I was so excited. I do my best to ride it when I have free time and I’m almost doing tricks with it (though its very difficult since the form of the board is not like a skateboard it’s really for cruising) I bring it everywhere I go even when I go out at night so last Saturday me and my friends took it out for a spin with their longboard. To be honest, long boarding is far far easier than the penny. You can control it more, you have space and it’s easy to balance and easy to steer.

Anyway here’s a photo dump of our skate trip.

Valentine's Picnic

Hi babies. If you’ve been following my Instagram (maritagalvez) obsession then you’re aware of my recent shoot with the beautiful couple James Reid and Ericka Villongco for Ericka’s launch of her website/blog! Check it out: www.erickavillongco.com it reached around 1.8 million hits in a few days. Gaaah!!

image

(On my way to the location. I’ve given up eyeliner and foundation and I’ve just been doing my brows lately. I’m trying to keep my skin healthy lately. I’ll announce why in

I’ve been styling Ericka and her sister Krissy (www.youtube.com/krissysings) for their appearances and as time went by we’ve shared stories and late late nights I’ve come to understand their style.

image

Had lunch at Starbucks and met up with Tricia after. It’s always a pleasure chatting with her. She has this substance that I don’t get from other people. It’s like when I talk to other people we usually gossip or talk about shallow things but with Tricia it’s about the Fashion industry, careers, where we want to head on to, etc. Admiration for her x 10!

image

image

image

image

I’ve always heard a lot of stories from Ericka about James. They are so lovely. 99.9% of these photos are CANDID. I know they’ve been together for 2 years now. Which is not easy especially when you’re under observation in the public eye. I loved how James was so game for this. I know most boys wouldn’t be and I’m pretty sure it’s not his idea but the effort was really cute. Once I put on that letterman jacket on him I kept telling him he looks like one of the boys from One Direction. THAT IS A COMPLIMENT! haha.

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

James trying out my Penny board. He was good actually. He was scared at first cause he got a scar from just trying to ride a board and my penny is smaller than the regular board.

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Had a wonderful dinner at Troccadoro. Had lengua, ribs and Balut with Caviar. I tried my best to eat Balut cause I saw how Tricia was so bad ass about it. Then it collapsed and i saw the fucking head. Boo.

image

image

image

Had Ericka do a fan sign for Josh, my Valentines gift to him, char.
Hope you liked it Josh!

Tagaytay Electronica Festival

image

They had me at “festival” but we had so much fun with the crowd, the amazing tagaytay weather, the Php 25.00 cocktails. May this not be your last, yes?

I’m glad I have niche-d friends. These are the lot that I’m at gigs and artsy fartsy stuff with, Bev and Ish. It’s funny how much we get along in taste. I’m sure you guys have that kind of impression. If you see a group of ombre’d brown-blonde, free people clothing girls, that’s probably us.

image

Since I am a bad media person, thank you Bev for taking photos and editing a video! Check out this video Bev made. Yep yep sorry but I usually hog the camera when were singing along in the car. Heh.

HEME x Leather

image

If you know me in person, you would probably mark me in your head as the maxi skirt kind of girl. I collect the shit out of these things. They’re comfy, easy to wear, convenient and makes me look a bit taller. This is my comfort zone.

image

This Thai printed one I have with elephants on them cost me around 140 Php (3$) mainly cause I am a hardcore thrifter. I can rummage a bargain sale for an hour and have a hand full of amazing finds. Leather was also a choice. I take every excuse to wear my leather jackets! So I love Tagaytay and Baguio just for the occasion of having my leather things let loose.

Thank you Beverly Kho for the photo

Defunkt The Pistol That You Pay For

Last weekend, I went to the Tagaytay Electronica Festival. Rad rad rad. Empty pool + 25peso cocktails + Tagaytay breeze and awesome DJs wrecking it. Will post that soon but for now here’s a photo scope of our balcony trippings in our hotel. Me, brain twins Ishii Villaseca and Bev Kho along with new and awesome people like Jess and Trissa were good company!

Coca Cola Tree Lighting at Araneta 2012

First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS! Of course, like many Filipino traditions, which are unique, we always start the Christmas season as early as September! It makes me feel warm inside when I hear Christmas carols in the malls and plazas, decorations for sale on the streets, the smell of PUTO BUMBONG (ohmygad) and lights on Christmas trees!

But what is Christmas all about for you? Well fortunately for me, I have spent Christmas with people I care about the most. I had a beautiful Christmas childhood, thanks to my parents. It was always oodles and oodles of food, our Christmas tree sprawling up till the 2nd floor of our living space with lots of goodies under, me and my brothers carolling around he neighborhood but what made my Christmases special were the get togethers I had with my cousins, aunts, uncles and other extended family I don’t see very much because they live in the States. It was always a simple get together with filipino kakanin, lechon and of course, Coca Cola.

Last Friday I went to the Coca Cola Tree Lighting in Araneta. I, along with my mom heard so much about this traditional event. A tree lighting like no other.

image

(above) Everyone was busy preparing for the event. The Tree was soo beautiful even though it wasn’t lit yet.

image

Lots of fruits at the dining table for us to feast on.

image

I wish there were really vendors of coke like this walking down the street of Manila!

image

Feasting on some Lechon and Kakanin!

image

In between all the merriment there were performances from GMA and ABS-CBN Talents and the event was hosted my Robbi Domingo and the beautiful Megan Young. They seranaded the audience.

image

image

image

Matteo Guidecelli

image

image

image

One of the most beautiful faces on TV, Jessy Mendiola.

image

image

It was time for the tree lighting ceremony! Me and my buddy, Issa felt so much adrenaline as we were out of the venue looking for a bathroom but the minute we heard the tree was going to be lit so we ran as fast as we could!

image

Here you go guys watch this short clip of the tree lighting!

image

image

image

image

image

Hahah!! The president of Happiness. I don’t know why I caught him this way.

image

KZ Tandingan, I love her voice!! She sang the Coca Cola Christmas jingle together with these adorable kids!

image

image

image

Merry Christmas again you guys! Congratulations Coca Cola for the beautiful event! Thank you for giving me the giddy warm feeling I get every Christmas season. Happy 100 years! Till next year!

I am weak.

You probably guessed it. I’m still on hiatus. Though I still get tweets and stuff to post something new. I really don’t think I can yet. The number 1 rule in having a blog is: Maintaining it. That’s what I’ve learned from Kryz Uy. & It’s pretty damn true that maybe y’all forgot about this website already.Though Im still greatful for people who haven’t! The 2nd rule would be: Never talk about your personal life. Though this is a personal blog. & I feel like I kind of owe it to people to say a bit of goodbye or ttyl (talk to y’all laters) kinda post.

I haven’t been doing shoots for a long time, I haven’t been designing, I haven’t been making youtube videos or posting things here. I’m so uninspired, bland, completely lifeless. I’m just focusing on myself right now. It’s been the stress of a previous relationship, stress of making money for myself & family issues. I’m trying to fix myself and get myself together and back on my feet again all by myself :)

I’m so lucky to be surrounded by good people. People who don’t take advantage of me, people who try to take care of me. To be completely transparent, I’m sick of holding this facade of being strong. Anyone who thinks I get over something or someone so quickly really doesn’t know me. I feel pain. Everyday. It gets worst on some days and easier sometimes. Highs and lows. I think that’s the worst part. Waking up and asking yourself “Why bother?” Why go through this over and over again, not being able to recover. I keep telling myself I’ve been through worst, I can do this. I’m stronger than this. Whatever quote I say to myself to make me feel better, to make me feel hopeful, I’m just prolonging the inevitable. I build this wall around me. & when it crumbles down on the worst days, the worst days I feel like crap, I get lost. Maybe I do this so people won’t worry about me. People won’t bother to make me feel a little bit better. But then whenever I have a bad day, whenever I get hungry or feel cold, why should I feed myself, make myself feel better, make myself warm? Why can’t anyone take care of me? Like how much I want to take care of people. I’ve been on the streets so many times in the past weeks. I’ve been under the rain, being cold, hungry and powerless. & I’m glad. I’m allowing myself to be human. I am weak.

Style Souk & Dinner at Alabang Town Center

I had sooo much fun spending 3 consecutive Saturdays in ATC. It’s the mall that I’m used to and I know by now, I should be tired of it but hey they recently made renovations and extended the mall and everything! More to discover! I hate having to go to Makati pa (I live near Alabang) to get my food cravings or fashion finds. Everything is here na in the South! Most of it is in ATC. Yesterday Ayala Malls invited me to Style Souk omg Accessorize was 60% off and make up stuff so I couldn’t resist!

Here are my unflattering shots because my boyfriend was testing the camera trick he was showing me. Was in Starbucks. I didn’t know they renovated! P.S. I love my new necklace & ring (ring is on sale for 100 Php!!!) from the Batik Shop!

image

image

image

Purchases I made with my Ayala Malls EGC! I loooove books. So I got this book from Powerbooks. I love these sort of stories :) & I got it for Php 349.00 only!

image

Aaaaah Dolly Wink! They were buy 1 take 1 from SUESH for 350php so that’s 88php per pair!!!

image

& now some food lust! This is the good kind. The freshest seafood I’ve had ever. Thank you Fish & Co for the wonderful dinner!

image

BEST CALAMARES! So soft you can cut them with your spoon!!

image

Fresh herb crusted baked Salmon

image

image

image

Pannacota was so creamy!

image

BEST Vanilla ice cream!

After that went straight to my friend Imma’s birthday. Girl, I’ve sat beside you in class when we were 12 and now you’re 19!!! (am I right? haha) Mwah! Awkward photo donya ako I didn’t wanna stand

Style Origin: Men's week feat. Armani, Faconnable, Penguin etc.

I’ve always been curious of Men’s style. I’ve never had the privilege of styling men independently. I’ve never had the guts to. I’ve only been exposed to it when I helped out Carlos Concepcion in some of his projects. Though I don’t think I’ll ever include styling men or designing menswear into my portfolio as my forte, this show has been so inspiring! From the styling to the trends and the taste, I love it.

& I love how wearable the pieces are. That’s the issue I have with Manila street style. People aren’t as “experimental” and that’s ok. Judging from the heat and the poor commuting privileges. I don’t really wanna dress up as how I normally want to dress up, too.

Anyhow I got the privilege of an invite from Ayala Malls to sit front row at Style Origin. Style Origin is an annual event at the Ayala Malls. Last year I just heard about it and really wanted to attend Style Souk at Greenbelt (I was there the whole time but I was doing “homework” for my styling class!!)

Here are my top favorite picks from the Mens casual fashion.

Princess Aurora's 18th

Met Sasha from my good friend Milan. It was such a pleasure working with her! The meetings are always fun. :)

She wanted a ball gown for her debut which was going to be held in Dumaguete. Stole some photos from her facebook of the place. Beautiful!

image

I loved that she trusted me with the color. At first she wanted something blue but I suggested a champagne colored fabric that wasn’t so glossy. (I hate glossy fabric to death) No matter how expensive the fabric was it will always bring you down and make it look cheap. Really wanted her to look like a princess on her day!

image

One of our “fun” meetings with beer! Haha. :) I made her this gigantic skirt which was separate from her corset top so she can mix and match it and re-use the top in other occasions.

Simple lace detail on the corset.

Here are some more photos of her during her debut.

Krissy & Ericka on ASAP rocks (04.01.2012)

Before anything else, check out their album! This is my beloved copy (of which I carry everywhere nowadays)

Was inspiring to work with these people :) Grab a copy of their second album under MCA music.

Ito ang ganap yesterday (Sunday April 1,2012)
I have NEVER seen so many stars. Movie stars, rock stars, pop stars and all. It felt like pag binomba yung studio wala ng entertainment industry ang Pilipinas. Haha. I loitered a bit and went to the Showtime studio, just cause! :)

Had so many stalker photos but will post that later :)

image

(above) Krissy and Ericka in their casuals doing sound check and a quick run through. & when I say quick, it really was as quick as possible. I forgot ASAP was LIVE. I have never styled anything that was LIVE. Meaning no second takes or break time for me to pin or fix their outfits on stage. Nada. Kaloka pa yung big ass time board to show how many mins remaining before they go live.

(below) God knows how thankful I was of break time.

image

& back to the rush!

image

image

(below) Before they went on. They looked radiating! It was so cute how Ericka was so nervous though. She couldn’t even focus on taking a photo haha. Proving how important every performance is for them. I mean, they’ve been on South East Asian tour.

image

image

(above) Krissy looks so fit! and the slit on Ericka’s dress was just right :)

image

image

image

Everything was so dramatic and beautiful with the string quartet in the background.

(below) Kasi dyosa si Christine Reyes.

image

image

image

(below) Next up was the ASAP Chill out with Robbie of PBB and Jessie Mendiola hosting the show. It was the cutest set up with the diner theme.

image

image

(below) Ano sabi ng heels ni Jessie?

image

(below) We got to see these adorable kids from Going Bulilit.

image

image

(below) The birthday celebrants. Happy Bday Quen and Kathryn Bernardo! Kaloka ang daming cake sa labas more than 20! Haha.

image

image

Kept laughing over Robbie’s HUNGER GAMES hang over. He kept incorporating it sa spiel. “Welcome to Pinoy Big Brother Hunger games edition. Sino kaya ang unang mamamatay?” HAHA

image

Krissy & Ericka’s turn. They’re performing again. I liked it this raw. Without any accompaniment but the guitar and their harmony.

Corporate Appropriate.

It’s the first time someone has officially hired me to personally style/shop for her! I wanna personally thank my beautiful friend Kryz Uy for sharing some tips.

I  met Janelle a year ago, she modeled for a lingerie fashion show I was styling. That’s part of the reason I was so excited to do this job cause it didn’t really require much to make her look beautiful. :)

What is this for? She’s going to Singapore and she needs chic pieces that are also appropriate for the office. Biggest challenge was the weather in Singapore. I was told it was blazing! So I had to keep it light. But I am the mother of layering!!! Feel ko lagi winter sa Pilipinas.

When shopping for yourself it’s always helpful to have a peg. To set your focus on. To avoid the—-oh my god this is cute imma buy it even if I won’t need it—dilemma. This will save you time and money!

Think about your priorities. Would you base it on comfort? Aesthetic? Trendy-ness? Quality? Brand? or Price? Rank your garment priorities!

For Janelle its basically the comfort and appropriateness of the outfits.

image

Here’s what I was going for based from her priorities. I needed to assemble 7 outfits for her. This would be my mood board.

1. Knee length skirts are the perfect balance of sexy and appropriate. Plus it would make any outfit look girly!(Photo credit)

2. Wide legged pants. To make you look extra taller. In my opinion, not all body types can pull this off. This would look best on slender women to give you a bit of lower volume .

3. Slouchy, comfy blazers. Look for light fabrics. Not the ones with lining preferably if you’re worried about climate.

4. Prep up your attire by adding a ruffled top with a body con skirt.

5. One pieces. Either look for one with collars or pockets. These are for the more casual days. You can dress em up for the weekend or add heels and a blazer for the office!

6. For me, belts are of 100% for accessory basis only. Uhuh. You shouldn’t use your belt to hold up your pants or whatever. YES OF COURSE I KNOW THAT’S WHAT THEY WERE MADE FOR. But! Your clothes should already have a good fit on you. Belts are just to singe waists to give emphasis and to look more polished and put together.

7. Stacked bracelets. Pearls are good for the office or evening looks. May I quote Laureen Uy, “If you feel is your outfit is too simple, just stack/pile accessories on. Works everytime.”

8. Girly chiffon tops. Because I have tons of it and it’s a trick I use to look feminine when Im in the office.

9. Have you been living at the bottom of the sea? If yes, detachable collars (like the one from Miu Miu above) is fucking awesome. Wear a simple shirt, attach this on and you completely look like you know what you’re doing in life! Trust me.

Here are some outfit shots I did with Janelle when we did a fitting. & hey she’s 25 years old she looks 16! I wanted to pin a ribbon on her hair and say xoxo.

This creeped me out cause I was just thinking about getting it done again. I had it done like 4 times in a span of months. It was cause of University (I studied a term in UST) & it kept closing and shit and last time I had it done the ring was so much shorter than the thickness of my lips so it went in my skin! & I was laughing in pain while pulling it out with tweezers and cutting my skin with small scissors. Haha. But Im getting it done again soon Bye.

Blackberry photo journal (March 6-13)

I’m having fun taking photos with my blackberry recently. Will make this a weekly thing & hey I’m having a giveaway soon. Yep, for food! I hope you guys win it or if not, come by the restaurant. It really is my favorite.

Pale face pale face paleeeee.

Before anything, have you been to the new Yahoo! installment? It’s called Yahoo! She. Real women, real talk. I had the honor of being one of the “Young Achievers” of whom they interviewed. Along with bloggersPatricia Prieto, Tippy Sy, Kaye Morales designer for Schizo. Anyway this was just the first episode of it. I can’t wait to see my awkward interview. Thank you Yahoo! Ph, Seph Bareto and his team& Clare Lapuz for making me look presentable and Bin Ubaldo of Bring Rings for my accessories!

To watch the video go to www.ph.she.yahoo.com :)

I have been in the kitchen (no 9gag puns pls) all week! Me, a busy little teen who could only cook fried egg or instant packed ramen and microwave left overs have been obsessed with cooking lately! The other night I was cooking at 2am, my dad got really annoyed. I make packed lunch for my boyfriend or I’d visit him in school to eat what I made at home.

Why the sudden interest? I just resigned from my office job a week ago and I have still been stressed out. Then I discovered MAANGCHI!

image

She’s this Korean woman who lives in New York and does the simplest, yummiest Korean food! Sometimes other Asian dishes but mostly Korean.

I have been so exposed to Korean culture at work and school. A lot of my friends are Koreans. The best part about hanging out and being around them is lunch time. I get to sample a bit of their stuff of which I fell in love with since I naturally like spicy food. Try Maangchi’s recipes. Its amazing how all the ingredients are already in my pantry/fridge. Plus they’re healthy. I didn’t notice dropping 5lbs this week. I didnt even notice most of my meals didn’t have meat in ‘em. Yay :)

Rolled veggie egg with spam and brown rice.

image

image

The red sauce on top is called dochujang. It’s their red pepper paste. My favorite essential in Korean cooking. Its not that spicy but sweet, smokey and cheap! 50php will last you a week or 2 of dochujang.

image

The other day I was sad cause I couldnt fit lunch with mom and dad in my schedule cause I had to fabric source then go straight to meet with a client. So mom got me this amazing open burrito with mint tea from Faburrito at the Columns, Makati. 5 STARS!

It’s an ever bilena lip pencil. Lip liners are more matte and longer lasting. You cant go wrong!

Finally, the music video of their latest single 12:51 premiered on Myx last Saturday January 28th. Hope you caught it! & continue to catch it.

Here’s the teaser of the video I styled for them. To be honest, it was quite a rollercoaster ride. Just because I have committed to directing a video on the same date that they filmed this. But, thanks to a night before rush fitting and the help of Rakiel Talan, this was an absolutely unbelievable accomplishment!

CBCP wants anti-discrimination bill cleansed of provisions on gay rights → newsinfo.inquirer.net

pinoytumblr:

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is now training its guns on the anti-discrimination bill, saying the possible enactment of the bill into law would open the door for the legalization of same sex marriages.

Speaking at a weekly forum in Greenhills, San Juan City, on Wednesday, lawyers of the CBCP and a Catholic bishop hit the Senate for amending the previous version of the anti-discrimination bill or the Senate Bill 2814.

The Senate has recently passed on third reading the bill which is after penalizing all forms of discrimination.

The SB 2814, known as Anti-Ethnic, Racial or Religious Discrimination and Profiling Act of 2011, will be discussed by a bicameral conference committee tasked to harmonize the Senate bill with similar bills passed by the House.

Ronald Reyes, a lawyer of the CBCP, said they had no qualms about the bill before but became concerned when the bill was amended and “sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity” were included.

“It’s opening the door for same sex marriages, which our country doesn’t allow,” Reyes told reporters.

Read more here

I have so much to say, 140 characters on twitter or a facebook status wouldn’t cut it. Told myself stuff like this, I wouldn’t touch on this blog, ever. Just because, I’ve made myself clear on how I feel about anything that has to do with Gays, bis, lesbians and transgenders.

First of all I’d like to say, If I wasn’t bisexual myself, my views would still be the same. I was raised in a certain way. I was taught love is pure. No one can ever limit love into any box. Not through age, people’s source of income, especially not gender.

Before reading my opinion, please read the article from Inquirer. Read it thoroughly and judge it yourself. We may not have the same views. You might not think I’m right. The most important thing is, I know I’m right. I believe that I am.

I’m so happy of the evolution of our nation. Of the changes I see politically and philosophically. I’m so proud of our administration’s un-biased ruling.

I was ecstatic to hear about the launching of the Anti-discrimination bill. I am not an expert but from my personal understanding based on the anti-hate bill in the United States, it protects the rights of the elderly, handicapped or the poor. Anyone who does not choose to be a certain way but is in that situation, you can not fire him from work w/o proper grounds or the opposite, not hire him because of his/her gender, age, etc.

The CBCP was okay with this until they saw “gender orientation” to be part of the bill.

Quoted from article:
“It’s opening the door for same sex marriages, which our country doesn’t allow, This is alarming and it might change our society” Reyes told reporters.

 —————————-

Our country does not allow or YOUR religion does not allow? What about the right to choose your own beliefs? And to be perfectly honest, I’m Catholic. I’m pretty sure Jesus loves me whoever I am.

Also, the world is ever changing. Our nation is changing. Not for the bad but for the better. Towards equal rights. & you people are not happy with spreading love throughout our nation?

Quoted from Article:

“the LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender) should not be considered the same as the elderly, the handicapped, and the poor. These people are disadvantaged not by their own choice. But the third sex, they choose this. How can you give protection to a choice like that?” CBCP lawyer Jo Imbong said.

_________________________

A choice? Men just started waking up one morning and said “Oh, I wanna be gay so all my guy friends would bully me for the rest of my life and my parents will disown me.”

Fellow countrymen, may you be gay, bisexual, transgender or straight

How will this bill affect you? For people to have equal rights as you, EQUAL. Not that gays will have MORE rights than heterosexual individuals but the freedom to choose whoever they want to be and not be judged upon it, even just under the circumstance of the law.

Yard Sale Bazaar! Selling vintage apparel and MILK TEA!

I’ve attended so many bazaars lately, I’m beginning to have the habit of spending so much again!—- Then again if you think about it, you are actually saving. Kind of like an investment.

Ever since I was financially emancipated from my parents, purely my choice—since I have this mentality of not asking shit from your folks when you reach 18— I’am quite the smart buyer! Funny how hard it is to spend your own hard earnings!

I have no set back or reservation when it comes to used clothes. I buy from thrift shops a lot, I have quite the talent actually (aka LUCK) when I stumble upon a piece that is trendy and my style!

Anyway, I am in serious need of cleaning out my closet of stuff that I do not wear anymore and stuff I haven’t even used! (These stuff are usually from a while back when dad lets me use my credit card for retail, worst idea ever!) So I decided to sell em through the YARD SALE BAZAAR. Happening tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 3) at South Bay’s club house from 12 noon- 9pm :) Check out the link for more details and also directions in getting there :)

Here are photos of some of the stuff I will be selling. Will include the prices also.
My price range is from Php 50.00- Php 750.00 something like that. But nothing will go up to 1k! & the 750.00 ones are the ones I haven’t worn yet or are branded.

Patigue-green sheer button down polo top/dress (I love this but I bought it w/o trying it on and it did not fit me well! :’[ ) — Php 550.00

image

image

P.S. I know it looks Camel brown but think of the army patigue shirts. It’s that shade of green. My camera was just playing with me!

Bleached Blue soft denim jacket for Php 250.00 only!

image

image

PRADA Soft wool-cotton mixed cropped top for Php 250.00 only!

P.S. it has bunny ears on the hoodie and you can put your thumb in the holes on the sleeves. Pretty neat

There you go. Hope you know what to expect from my stall. Btw entrance is FREE let’s chill and hang out for a while also :) Remember to check the link for the event on facebook and click “join” so I know who to expect! —> YARD SALE BAZAAAR

AND I wont just be selling stuff from my closet. Also MILK TEA!!!
I know right? I just had this idea of selling some refreshments and whats the best to sell but milk tea! I make home made milk tea a lot. Just cause the ones outside are expensive and packed with so much calories! Do you know a regular sized milk tea is about 300 calories? Cause of all the sugar and syrup they add.

So Im putting my twist around it. My friends love this when they come over and I make them some. Still don’t know how much yet but I’m pretty sure it wont be as expensive as those 70-120php ones at the mall! ;)

Im so excited for this actually. My boyfriend is helping me out with this. He’ll be selling the refreshments. Yay!

See you all!! Please please come by!

Rhapsody.

Mom just told me were going out of town for the weekend. I love the fact that Tagaytay and Nasugbu is nearer than QC from our house! :)

image

I wish I could’ve taken more photos but Im so annoyed by the size of my tiny camera that I don’t like taking it out so much. Hope I can buy a G12 before Christmas! But judging from all the spending I did this weekend due to the fact that Sta. Rosa is outlet land. Gap, Marks & spencers, ALDO, Ralph Lauren and this beautiful store called “smart buy” (?) 999.00 beautiful pants! (but did not flatter my huge ass hoho)

Here’s what I wore the day we left for our trip. Found this amazing men’s corduroy printed buttoned down top that I wear as a dress (which I found at this cute boutique in Sucat highway) over some Topshop stockings.

Richard Gutierrez for Survivor Philippines

I got to be a part of this cool experience of assisting to style Richard Gutierrez for Survivor Philippines.

I don’t know much, it’s pretty embarrassing!  I wasn’t even aware Richard was the host of it until Carlos told me, with a hint of grin evoking “wtf” on his face. Haha. Noted to my stupid self. :) Must watch local tv now besides the news!

Carlos Concepcion styled a lot for Richard. The whole 8 mile! From TV commercial to banners and billboards. I got to help with the billboard and banners. I went to God knows where.. QC to this location to shoot some of the billboard ads.

What’s really funny is since I wasn’t aware of any shit that was going on, I didn’t know Survivor wasn’t even filming yet or released who the characters were for this season. I was so dumbfounded when I saw people walking around with belos or towels on their heads to cover their identity. That was entertaining. Anyway here are the photos!

May I say, PHOTOSHOP LEVEL 231847381 to this girl who edited this. The photos look like they were shot on location in a mystical island or whatever. And his shirt was blue, nagulat ako red na sa ibang shots lol. & the photographer Jojit Lorenzo was really good as well! Not to mention Carlos.

"NAKED AMBITION" The Dialogue: Jake Cuenca for The Philippine Star

This was a long while back. It was just now I thought of blogging about it! :)
Well, I’m very fortunate that famous fashion stylist Carlos Concepcion trusts in me to help him with some work he does. I’m pretty sure it gets too busy for him. Was so inspired when he said “Let’s work together on something soon” when we met a while back during at fashion show. & yay we did!

Here’s one of the first shoots I helped him with. It’s a shoot produced by Raymond Gutierrez for The Philippine Star’s, Young Star: “The Dialogue.”

Everyone was so friendly and fun to work with! The tattoo that PnP tattoo drew on Jake took about 3-4 hours! It was so worth it though, really cool.

& in between we’d go outside for a yosi break and Jake was full on topless in public. Medyo na culture shock ako. Haha!

The fashion show launch of DOVERA for Amway.

I styled 2 photoshoots and this Fashion show for Dovera.

Let me just tell you something about Dovera. It’s a new line of make-up fit for young women to adults. Premium make up made affordable. Current users of mass brands such as Maybelline and Avon.’

It’s gonna be sold through Amway a global leader in prestige beauty, comes a fashion-forward line of colour cosmetics: designed by luxury, made in Italy, priced reasonably.  For the well-informed, upwardly mobile young female professional who cares about beauty but invests wisely.

With a fresh line introduced every 6 months, Dovera will complement fashion trends with colors that creatively reflect the next season’s mood and tone.

Let me show you a bit of our photoshoot for the catalogue!

Here’s the final behind the scenes page of the catalogue.

image

Did styling for the 1st shoot with my good friend Jan Aranilla. She assisted me a while back styling the album cover of Krissy and Ericka Villongco’s 2nd album.

Our super awkward interview AFTER the shoot of how we put everything together. Super tired and we’re not good in front of the camera. Even if I do hosting for events I’ve never been interviewed about fashion. How I put together things, stuff like that.

image

image

Back to the show. Let me just say. First project I’ve done, EVER that did not require me to handle EVERYTHING on my own. Kahit kelan, I’ve never had the privilege of having amazing staff backstage working hard so guess what? I got to watch the show!

Can you believe we had flying dancers as introduction to the fashion show?? Such an amazing production.

The Village Bazaar in BF homes, Paranaque

This is really cool. Let me just tell you, I’ve lived in the South half of my life and moved to BF homes, Paranaque about 5 years ago. I’ve always seen this “The Village” place but I thought it was another of those villages. We have a bunch in BF. I got to experience their amenities and Im super impressed! Really wished I could spend my day again there. They have a gym, pool area, resto and a full sports complex! Will take photos when I visit again.

Anyway, theyre having a christmas bazaar and I can’t wait to come!

Oxygen S/S 2012: Redefining Urban Fashion

I usually don’t get all giddy and excited for a “brand” on Fashion Week as much as I do when I watch haute couture designers. Oxygen was an exception.I’ve been a fan of Oxygen’s aesthetic since I was a young teen. I remembered them as being this edgy brand that reminded me of international brands. Well, that’s the best part isn’t it? ITS LOCAL.

Before flooding you with photos of beautiful chic pieces from their Spring/Summer collection, lemme just tell you what I loved most about this show. From the music to the lights and the overall feel of the show was spectacular. Congratulations, Oxygen!

I loved this color palette. VERY 2012. Olive greens which made me think of this hue of green from the military that even made their tailored blazers edgier. Can’t wait to get my hands on that.

Also, it’s my boyfriend’s first time to watch a fashion show live. It gave him a better eye on men’s fashion. Definitely more than jeans and shirts next time for him. Gotta get him those pretty cardigans and “bitin shorts” that are so CHUCK BASS.

Been a while since I went to a “rockfest.” May I just say though, this has been the most organized local rock concert I’ve ever been to. Grabe the coordination with bouncers and all that. I got taken aback cause I thought I had backstage pass since my pass was “all access” but then we were just allowed a portion of the front :( The organizers agreed though to give us passes, me & my boyfriend. Yes, I took him with me! (He HATES these things with PASSION)

image

So, yun. We got backstage and I saw alotta of my friends who were performing that night. Didnt get to catch Updharmadown, Franco, Urbandub etc kasi saw the line up and they were gonna perform around 2am pa, LOL di na kaya ng katawan ko yun matanda na aketch.

image

Awesome performance by Sandwich! HI DIEGO, HI. <3

The funniest band Kamikazee signing CDs and bumped into Ney Dimaculangan of 6 cycle mind! :)

We were born and raised in the summer haze.

Hi, love. I’ve been in war with my laptop for the past month. Had to reformat it and lost my photo-enhancing stuff like photoshop. Stuck with Photoscape. But then, I got to adjust the lighting on my photos using my brother’s computer. Haha! Sorry for the inconsistencies on my photos on this post. Proving I know nothing about cameras!

image

I built my entire outfit around my accessories. Mainly that floppy hat I adore so much. It’s from Accessorize! It’s a black straw hat and extra wide brimmed. I feel so SOHO, New York, yes.

image

Chill. I meant for my inners to peak out. They’re bikini tops, btw. From Topshop. My favorite black skimpy pair, haha. Ring from Bring Ring.

image

My necklace is super duper nice. I am such a big fan of Tina San’s accessory line called Tinitch. Get this! They are:

(a) Chic and different. She made this piece especially for me! Isn’t the cute gold fringes cool?

(b) Literally unique. EVERY PIECE IS DIFFERENT. I actually had to ask her twice why on earth she would make pieces that are one of a kind and sell them at such low prices. She’s such a sweetheart. She said, it’s sort of a gift to the customers, to have one of a kind accessories.

(c) Affordable Ranges from Php 250.00- 900.00

Here are some of my favorite pieces!

image

I’ll be posting more about her stuff. Check out Tinitch’s facebook page.

image

Check out this cute backpack! I’ve been looking for backpacks na hindi nakaka sira ng porma Haha. Discovered this beautiful place in The Collective in Malugay St. Makati called Yadu.

image

They produce bags such as backpacks, laptop bags, slings and even bags you can attach to your motorcycle or bike. I have this retro city bike from Japan. I really want a cute bag for it instead of a basket in front. :)

image

I find all their bags to be patched. Different textures and patterns of fabric that works. Curdoroy with denim and velvet sometimes. Really cool!

image

You can have made to order bags however you want them to look like! Even salvage your old bag that had sentimental value and they can turn it into something cool and unique. Check out their Facebook page now.

image

Flannel top from Lacoste, maxi dress as skirt from folded & hung.
I guess that’s it. Inserting an irrelevant photo of me failing to pout. Laters. :)

Patterns & Vodka

Yay! Blogging hiatus over. Wait, before anything else. I’d want to thank y’all for still having the interest for what I post on here even if I haven’t been that active! I’ve been so occupied (insert long rant about my schedule)

Me and Arveen went out to go to Makati. So many reports about this super typhoon again but we still went out. Did some errands in Makati, went to Mckinley Hill then to The Fort for my good friend Beverly’s birthday dinner.. and a few beers & vodka.

image

Mumu face part 1, Arveen’s new flash made me look so pale! I tried my best to bronze my face haha.

image

Wore the cutest scarf from Accessorize. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard/seen/wanted eagerly to buy and event went a little nuts when you visit their store. I do, all the time! Especially with all their promos now! Imagine, 900 pesos for 3 items. ANY ITEMS! Bags worth 3k, beautiful bangles and accessories, almost went nuts! Don’t worry, they have more promos coming your way and you can hear about them first with me. I’ll be writing alot about them. :) Check their facebook page click here

Accessorize is currently having their sale, another one, yep! From October 2- October 16. It’s a nationwide sale, selected items at 30% off! :)

They’re becoming so affordable! & they’re from the UK. :) I love their aesthetics. Chic boho, i-just-happen-to-wear-this effortless dressing up. A bit of advice, focus on accessories. They’re gonna be you’re bestfriend. I have tons of clothes most of them are thrifted or I made them myself. I put a lot of my budget in accessories cause it really is—-may I quote Amina Aranaz— “The finishing point to your outfit.” :)

image

Bangle set from Accessorize, 2-finger Ring from Bring Rings, they have a new collection. They’re so fierce! Bet na bet ko talaga. Visit their site! Gow!

image

Studded two-toned leather boots, thrifted. Earrings, accessorize. <3

image

Thanks for taking photos, love!

image

Oh there na, your kunwari candid shot. Haha.

image

Happy Bday Bev, love you!

Nostalgia.

Discovered so many photos I had from High School and first year of college and the summers in between. I picked the ones that really brought out memories of how I was back then. & I think thats why I’m so mellow and I feel so old now, how I don’t like going out or I just like watching TV on a saturday night is (I think) cause I had a lot of crazy nights when I was younger and I grew out of it? I don’t know. Haha! But these are really funny photos. For people who think I care about how I look like in photos, lol, no. & people who are in these photos. Thank you for making my teenage years sooooo…. sober :)

You have to listen to this and play it while you look at the photos, promise, you won’t regret it!

My friend Bianca’s 16th birthday. & Yeah we were all 16-17s
