Long & Short

image

A lot of you keep asking me where I got it, how much was it and where you can get it in the Philippines. I asked my cousin from Texas to get me one. He got it for me for Christmas! It was about 100+ $ (Php 4000-5,000). The best way to purchase it is through a family/friend in the US/Canada that’s going home to the Philippines. You can still try ebay or those online shops. I got mine at zumiez.com but I am not comfortable with shopping online. So that was the best way for me.

I was so excited. I do my best to ride it when I have free time and I’m almost doing tricks with it (though its very difficult since the form of the board is not like a skateboard it’s really for cruising) I bring it everywhere I go even when I go out at night so last Saturday me and my friends took it out for a spin with their longboard. To be honest, long boarding is far far easier than the penny. You can control it more, you have space and it’s easy to balance and easy to steer.

Anyway here’s a photo dump of our skate trip.

Valentine’s Picnic

Hi babies. If you’ve been following my Instagram (maritagalvez) obsession then you’re aware of my recent shoot with the beautiful couple James Reid and Ericka Villongco for Ericka’s launch of her website/blog! Check it out: www.erickavillongco.com it reached around 1.8 million hits in a few days. Gaaah!!

(On my way to the location. I’ve given up eyeliner and foundation and I’ve just been doing my brows lately. I’m trying to keep my skin healthy lately. I’ll announce why in

I’ve been styling Ericka and her sister Krissy (www.youtube.com/krissysings) for their appearances and as time went by we’ve shared stories and late late nights I’ve come to understand their style.

Had lunch at Starbucks and met up with Tricia after. It’s always a pleasure chatting with her. She has this substance that I don’t get from other people. It’s like when I talk to other people we usually gossip or talk about shallow things but with Tricia it’s about the Fashion industry, careers, where we want to head on to, etc. Admiration for her x 10!

I’ve always heard a lot of stories from Ericka about James. They are so lovely. 99.9% of these photos are CANDID. I know they’ve been together for 2 years now. Which is not easy especially when you’re under observation in the public eye. I loved how James was so game for this. I know most boys wouldn’t be and I’m pretty sure it’s not his idea but the effort was really cute. Once I put on that letterman jacket on him I kept telling him he looks like one of the boys from One Direction. THAT IS A COMPLIMENT! haha.

James trying out my Penny board. He was good actually. He was scared at first cause he got a scar from just trying to ride a board and my penny is smaller than the regular board.

Had a wonderful dinner at Troccadoro. Had lengua, ribs and Balut with Caviar. I tried my best to eat Balut cause I saw how Tricia was so bad ass about it. Then it collapsed and i saw the fucking head. Boo.

Tagaytay Electronica Festival

They had me at “festival” but we had so much fun with the crowd, the amazing tagaytay weather, the Php 25.00 cocktails. May this not be your last, yes?

I’m glad I have niche-d friends. These are the lot that I’m at gigs and artsy fartsy stuff with, Bev and Ish. It’s funny how much we get along in taste. I’m sure you guys have that kind of impression. If you see a group of ombre’d brown-blonde, free people clothing girls, that’s probably us.

Since I am a bad media person, thank you Bev for taking photos and editing a video! Check out this video Bev made. Yep yep sorry but I usually hog the camera when were singing along in the car. Heh.

HEME x Leather

If you know me in person, you would probably mark me in your head as the maxi skirt kind of girl. I collect the shit out of these things. They’re comfy, easy to wear, convenient and makes me look a bit taller. This is my comfort zone.

This Thai printed one I have with elephants on them cost me around 140 Php (3$) mainly cause I am a hardcore thrifter. I can rummage a bargain sale for an hour and have a hand full of amazing finds. Leather was also a choice. I take every excuse to wear my leather jackets! So I love Tagaytay and Baguio just for the occasion of having my leather things let loose.

Thank you Beverly Kho for the photo

Defunkt The Pistol That You Pay For

Last weekend, I went to the Tagaytay Electronica Festival. Rad rad rad. Empty pool + 25peso cocktails + Tagaytay breeze and awesome DJs wrecking it. Will post that soon but for now here’s a photo scope of our balcony trippings in our hotel. Me, brain twins Ishii Villaseca and Bev Kho along with new and awesome people like Jess and Trissa were good company!

Messy lighting, pardon. Accessories from: Forever 21; Sunglasses from Cubao X (C/o Beverly Kho)
